2020 Registration Information

The 2020 Player registration dates have been set...

Session 1 will be on Sunday, January 26th, from Noon - 2pm.
Session 2 will be on Saturday,  February 1st, from Noon - 3pm.

WHERE: Both sessions will be held in the Umpire room at the top of the Layritz Park parking lot.

QUESTIONS: Please contact Player Agent (registrar), Mark Baxter, at PlayerAgent@LayritzBaseball.com for inquiries.

WHO: We will welcome all Bantam and Midget players from the areas of Hampton, Esquimalt, and Layritz.

2020 FEE STRUCTURE: Registration fees for our 2020 regular season divisions are as follows (No increase from 2018, $10 increase from 2019 to accommodate no concession shifts and other externally increasing fees):

Peewee   $235
Bantam   $235   (extra fee due at registration for those trying out the Bantam-AA division - the extra cost is due to BCMinor charging higher fees for AA, typically ~$60)
Midget    $255
SIBL       $265

CHEQUES & CASH ONLY: When coming to registration, you will need two cheques (or three if trying out for Bantam-AA). Cash or a currently dated cheque (made payable to "Layritz Intermediate Baseball Association" or we can use our stamp when you're there) for the applicable division registration fee (dated for now), one post-dated cheque (August 1, 2020) for our $50 uniform deposit (no more concession deposit as of 2019).  The uniform deposit cheque will be shredded by our Treasurer upon return of uniform at the end of the season.

Our age structure is different than that of the American organized Little League. We operate off the calendar year like our schools do.

AGE GROUPS: In 2020 the age groups are:

  Peewee (U13):      2007 and 2008 born players
  Bantam (U15):      2005 and 2006 born players
  Midget (U18):       2002, 2003, and 2004 born players
SIBL(18+):          2001 and older born players

PEEWEE: Peewee ball is a great division, introducing lead-offs for the first time to most youth ball players. This division plays ball throughout the city, playing games against 5 other clubs. At approximately mid-season there are opportunities to play on prospect teams and tryout for GVBA (Greater Victoria Baseball Assoc.) summer (All-Star) ball.
Peewee teams play on a field with 70 foot base paths and pitch from 48 feet. (Little League has 60 ft bases and a 46 ft mound)

BANTAM: There may be some changes to how Bantam is structured this year in Victoria by GVBA. We'll keep you posted.
There will be assessments at the end of February/beginning of March. Dates will be posted soon (watch the web site for details – www.layritzbaseball.com).

DON'T REGISTER LATE: Players that register with us are numbered as they register. Please register on time as we may not be able to provide for late comers if teams are full.

NEW TO LIBA: Those who have not registered with us before, please print and fill out a registration form to bring with your cheques.
